Temple Activities

Each year at the Festival of The Goddess we create a Temple and dedicate it to the Goddess we have chosen to focus on. This year the Temple will reflect our focus on Kuan Yin, the Asian Goddess of Infinite Compassion.

Items needed to make the Temple worthy of Kuan Yin:
Rugs
Pillows
Wall hangings
Art

There will be walls, floors and ceilings that will need your embellishments!

We raise the temple early in the day on Friday. You are welcome to join us in its creation or simply bring your offerings and decorations to the temple site for their inclusion.

Temple Dedication will be directly after our Opening Ritual on Friday. Please bring your drum or other instrument and join in the procession!

The Altar(s) will have space for:
Tools you wish to consecrate,
Images of ancestors,
Offerings to the Goddess, especially Kuan Yin.
Objects of beauty and magic,
Flowers in vases,
or whatever you are called to offer.

Please make sure your name is on any object you wish to take back home with you. Unmarked objects will be considered offerings to the Temple and may be stored for use in future Temples.

Temple activity may include:
wimmin hosting workshops,
meditation,
chanting and singing,
drumming,
dancing,
Yoga, Tai Chi, and Qi Gong.

Within this sacred space, wimmin have held their handfasting rituals and dedication ceremonies. This year there will be four Festival Rituals in the Temple.

We will be honoring:
Birth and Motherhood,
First Bloods,
Cronings,
and Passings.
Ancestor Altar
Bring a picture or item for the ancestor altar that can be left. This item or picture is to represent any person, animal, home, etc. that you have lost since last years festival. This is a type of escort encouragement to the new ancestor by those they have left behind to the hands of the ancients.

Your Temple is what you want it to be, and is created by You.

Please Contact Us if you wish to lead an activity in the Temple. You will be contacted for time arrangement.
